Job summary

Arcadis in the Netherlands is seeking a Lead Engineer High Voltage to provide technical leadership across 110–380 kV networks, substations and renovation projects, ensuring quality, managing risks, and maintaining client relations throughout all project phases.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams within the Energy Transition High Voltage group, coordinate with grid operators and EPC contractors, review designs and deliverables, and support proposals and business development while mentoring

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in high-voltage engineering projects.
• Experience leading work packages, teams, or technical disciplines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• English proficiency required; Dutch language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of high-voltage infrastructure projects, including substations, cable systems, transmission lines, and grid connection projects (110-380 kV).
• Act as the technical authority for assigned projects, providing engineering guidance and making key technical decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensuring effective collaboration, resource allocation, and timely delivery of project milestones.
• Review, approve, and oversee the preparation of calculations, technical specifications, equipment selections, single-line diagrams, and detailed engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, regulations, client requirements, and Arcadis quality and safety procedures.
• Manage technical risks, engineering interfaces, and design changes, proactively identifying and resolving issues that may impact project delivery.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, grid operators, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.
• Support project managers with project planning, resource forecasting, budgeting considerations, and successful project execution.
• Contribute to business development activities through technical input into proposals, tenders, client presentations, and project acquisition efforts.
• Coach, mentor, and develop engineers within the team, promoting technical excellence, knowledge sharing, innovation, and continuous improvement.
