Job summary

Backbase is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to own the accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll across the Netherlands, UK, and Spain. You’ll advise on payroll, tax, benefits, and employment matters while partnering with HR, Finance, and vendors.

You’ll drive process improvements, challenge the status quo, and look for automation opportunities to reduce manual work and improve data quality across regions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in payroll, in senior roles.
• PDL (Praktijkdiploma Loonadministratie) or equivalent payroll qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Dutch and UK payroll legislation and institutions.
• Spanish payroll experience is highly desirable.
• Experience in international, multi-country HR environments.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll activities for the Netherlands, UK, and Spain, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Advise on payroll, tax, benefits, and regulatory matters to HR and Finance.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure data flows between systems.
• Identify opportunities to automate and simplify payroll processes.
