Job summary

DSV in Rotterdam is seeking an experienced Senior Freight Forwarder Export to join our export team. You will manage a client portfolio, handle full end-to-end export processes from onboarding to final invoicing, and ensure top-level service for clients across retail, automotive, and healthcare sectors.

As a senior freight forwarder, you will organize your workflow, leverage knowledge of sea freight (LCL/FCL), build strong client relationships, and guide colleagues.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a similar role (import or export).
• Proficient in sea freight (LCL/FCL) and documentation.
• Strong relationship management and ability to handle end-to-end process.

Responsibilities

• process client requests into bookings with shipping lines, gateways, and transporters.
• prepare export documentation and shipping instructions; keep files in order.
• contact clients to share track-and-trace or resolve delivery issues.
• train and guide (new) colleagues.
• utilize Cargowise in daily work.

Join our export team and ensure that clients in retail, automotive, and healthcare experience true Champions League-level service in export. No fragmented processes here. You manage your own client portfolio and have the freedom to handle the full journey from A to Z. From onboarding a client, to the first booking, to the financial completion of the file. • processing client requests into bookings with shipping lines, gateways, and transporters;
• preparing export documentation, shipping instructions, and keeping your files in order;
• calling and emailing clients to share track-and-trace information or solve delivery issues;

• using Cargowise in your daily work.

You bring

• a positive and energetic work attitude;
• you are a self-starter who can guide and develop others based on your experience;
• a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role, import or export;
• good command of Dutch (B1) and English, both written and spoken;
• experience with Cargowise is a plus.
