Job summary

DSV - Global Transport and Logistics in Rotterdam is seeking a Senior Freight Forwarder Import to join our import team of 20 colleagues. You will own the end-to-end process from onboarding a client to the final financial settlement, delivering top-level ocean freight service.

You bring at least 4 years of experience in ocean freight forwarding (import/export), strong Dutch (B1) and English skills, and familiarity with Cargowise.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role, ocean freight forwarding import or export.
• Good command of Dutch (B1) and English, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Cargowise is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Converting customer requests into bookings, coordinating import sea freight shipments, and handling the financial settlement of shipment files.
• Checking transport documentation to ensure compliance with Incoterms and customer agreements.
• Instructing our Customs team to prepare T1 transit documents and customs clearance declarations.
• Monitoring shipments for deviations, proactively updating customers, and handling transport-related claims.
• Onboarding, coaching, and supporting (new) colleagues.
• Using Cargowise in your daily work.

Join our import team of 20 colleagues and ensure that clients experience true Champions League-level service in ocean freight. No fragmented processes here. You manage your own client portfolio and have the freedom to handle the full journey from A to Z. From onboarding a client, to the first booking, to the financial completion of the file. Top-level service is what you deliver: You’re on it.

How you do this? We trust you to organize your work your way. You bring knowledge of sea freight (LCL/FCL), strong relationship management skills, and still get energy from operational tasks. Your efforts ensure timely delivery.

You achieve this by:

You bring

• you are a self-starter who can guide and develop others based on your experience;


• a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role, ocean freight forwarding import or export;
