Job summary

DSV Road GmbH in Tilburg is seeking a Team Leader Freight Forwarder to lead a 10-person team, oversee daily operations, and resolve escalations across international road transports. You will coach and develop staff, collaborate with the freight manager, and drive performance in multiple countries.

You will be the first point of contact for your team, maintaining strong partner relations, visiting overseas locations, and ensuring timely, reliable transport solutions.

Qualifications

• at least 3 years of experience as a freight forwarder within international road transport.
• a good command of both Dutch and English, as you frequently communicate with your team, customers and international partners;
• full-time availability of 40 hours per week and the willingness to be visibly present for your team;
• overview, resilience and enjoyment in coaching colleagues, with leadership experience being an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Coaching, guiding and developing your team, encouraging colleagues to keep improving in their profession;
• monitoring the daily operation, priorities and progress within the countries you are responsible for;
• resolving escalations and complex transport issues, together with customers, carriers and partners abroad;
• strengthening international relationships and visiting partners abroad to develop the collaboration.

A strong team of freight forwarders that organises international transports in a smart, reliable and customer-focused way: you’re on it. In this role, you combine your experience in road transport with overview, coaching and building strong relationships with partners and DSV locations abroad.

How you do this? As team leader freight forwarding, you are the first point of contact for a team of 10 colleagues. You keep an overview of the daily operation, support your team with complex issues and resolve escalations when needed. In addition, you work closely with the freight manager and are responsible for the results, collaboration and development within a number of countries. You achieve this by:

• coaching, guiding and developing your team, encouraging colleagues to keep improving in their profession;
• monitoring the daily operation, priorities and progress within the countries you are responsible for;
• resolving escalations and complex transport issues, together with customers, carriers, partners and DSV locations abroad;
• strengthening international relationships, where you also visit partners abroad to make agreements and further develop the collaboration.

You bring
