We are currently looking for a Flight Software Engineer to join the team in Delft and work on advanced satellite systems.
You will join a team whose work spans mission integration, Earth Observation, secure communications, and space systems engineering. As a Senior Flight Software Engineer, you will design, develop and verify the on-board software that routes and processes data on satellites.
Responsbilities
- You will develop code that integrates several complex interfaces and routes data between them.
- You will design software architecture that optimizes performance within the hardware constraints
- You support systems engineering with the requirement generation and functional flow-down.
- You create unit tests, perform system-level testing, and support hardware-in-the-loop setups to verify software functionality.
- You write clean, maintainable code and produce clear technical documentation to support design reviews and system audits.
- You work closely with other engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions (electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering).
Requirements
- You have at least 10 years of experience in embedded/low level software development.
- You have experience with real-time applications, such as Linux and RTOS.
- You have experience with spacecraft flight software, or comparable vehicle software requiring a high level of reliability.
- You have experience with CCSDS and ECSS space protocols, such as CFDP and PUS.
- You have been in contact before with UART and Ethernet.
- You have an educational background in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems or another relevant field.
- You are proficient in C, C++, and Python, and have experience with Rust.
- You are familiar with spacecraft systems engineering methodology such as MBSE.
- You have experience with test-driven development, CI/CD workflows, and Git.
- You have a fluent command of the English language.
- You are able to come on-site to the office in Delft. The possibility to work from home is limited.
Nice-to-have's
- Familiarity with networking technologies such as TCP/IP, UDP/IP, and FTP.
- CAN-bus, I2C, SPI, SpaceWire.
- Familiarity with MISRA / AUTOSAR guidelines and/or ECSS coding standards.
- Experience with encryption and security.
- Working proficiency in Dutch.
