Job summary

S[&]T in Delft seeks a Flight Software Engineer to join the team working on advanced satellite systems. You will develop and verify on-board software that routes and processes data on satellites, with emphasis on reliability and robustness in flight environments.

You will collaborate across software, systems, and hardware, implement tests, and help integrate interfaces while reporting to senior engineers. The role combines hands-on coding with architecture work to deliver dependable space-grade

Qualifications

• Must have demonstrable embedded/low-level software experience or strong internship track record.
• Experience with real-time applications (Linux/RTOS).
• Educational background in Electrical/CS/Embedded Systems or related field.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python; familiarity with Rust.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify satellite on-board software for data routing and processing.
• Work with tight hardware constraints to ensure orbital reliability.
• Implement and test defined software components under guidance of senior engineers.
• Collaborate across software, systems, and hardware interfaces and take ownership.
• Create unit tests, perform system-level testing, and support hardware-in-the-loop setups.
• Produce clear technical documentation for reviews and audits.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineering teams.
