Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking a Senior Trader to build and lead its Guarantees of Origin trading desk in Amsterdam. The role combines proprietary and flow trading, shaping strategy, pricing, and counterparty relationships in environmental commodities.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of trading experience, a proven P&L track record, and a hands-on ability to design pricing and risk models using tools like Python or Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proprietary or flow trading experience in commodities or energy markets.
• Proven ability to generate trading P&L within defined risk parameters.
• Experience building, formalising or restructuring a trading desk, strategy or risk framework.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement the trading strategy and risk framework for Guarantees of Origin.
• Trade GOs on a proprietary basis across technologies, countries and vintages.
• Develop flow trading and market-making activity with clients and counterparties.
• Identify cross-border, cross-technology and relative-value opportunities.
• Build and maintain pricing, valuation, risk and P&L models and trading tools.
• Monitor European renewable energy markets and drivers.
• Lead expansion into biomethane, carbon and other environmental commodities.
• Support growth of the trading team over time.
