Job summary

Alfen is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and optimise software for Energy Storage Systems (ESS). You will lead technical decisions, contribute to architecture, and work closely with hardware, systems, and product teams to deliver robust solutions.

You will mentor peers, participate in code reviews, and drive improvements in processes and tooling, while staying current with emerging technologies to accelerate the energy transition.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in software development, preferably using C, C++, Python, and Linux.
• Experience with, or a strong interest in, software development for Energy Storage Systems (ESS) or industrial systems.
• Experience working within an Agile software development environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive mindset and a continuous drive to learn, improve, and develop yourself.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced software for Alfen's Energy Storage Systems (ESS) across the full software lifecycle.
• Play a leading technical role, contribute to software architecture, and help shape the evolution of our software platform.
• Collaborate with software/hardware engineers, system architects, test engineers, and product management to deliver reliable and high-quality solutions.
• Mentor colleagues through code reviews and knowledge sessions, and help improve development processes, tooling, and software quality.
