Job summary

Medtronic Netherlands is seeking a Senior EHS&S Specialist to deploy and embed Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability policies at the European Operations Center campus in Heerlen, with two distribution centers and a large office.

You will lead risk assessments and drive continuous improvement, reporting to the Senior EHS Manager, and collaborate with operations, facilities, quality, HR, and employees.

Qualifications

• A degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, Sustainability, Engineering, or Science.
• NEBOSH Certificate or EHS accreditation.
• Minimum 5 years of EHS&S experience; fluency in Dutch and English.
• At least 2 years of trainings/presentations/project work.
• Strong computer literacy with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Organised, self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team.
• Experience in medical device or logistics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily EHS&S programs and management system requirements across sites.
• Drive risk reduction in ergonomics, manual handling, warehouse safety, biohazards, and emergency readiness.
• Embed EHS&S standards into everyday work practices and processes.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching and leadership visibility.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and sustainability regulations.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Support training, emergency readiness, and site risk evaluations; act as Prevention Advisor.
