Job summary

Medtronic is seeking a Senior EHS&S Specialist to deploy and embed Environmental, Health, Safety & Sustainability policies across Dutch regulations and Medtronic standards. You will assess risks in ergonomics, warehouse safety, manual handling, and fire protection, and provide expert EHS&S support to a diverse workforce near the European Operations Center in Heerlen.

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environment, Sustainability, Engineering, Science or related qualification (NEBOSH or EHS accreditation).
• 5+ years of EHS&S and Prevention Advisor experience.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.
• 2+ years delivering trainings/presentations or project work.
• High computer literacy; proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead the daily implementation and maintenance of EHS&S programs, policies, procedures, and management system requirements across assigned site(s).
• Drive risk reduction initiatives in ergonomics, manual handling, warehouse safety, biohazards, emergency preparedness, and preventive medical processes.
• Embed EHS&S standards into daily work practices with operations and site leadership.
• Promote a proactive safety culture through coaching, engagement, leadership visibility, and clear communication.
• Ensure compliance with corporate standards and all applicable environmental, health, safety, and sustainability regulations.
• Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective actions to identify hazards and strengthen controls.
• Support training, emergency readiness, environmental compliance, sustainability activities, performance tracking, and risk evaluations.
