Job summary

Valcon in the Netherlands is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who designs and optimizes data infrastructure, leading projects from needs translation to delivered solutions.

You will build ETL/ELT pipelines, collaborate with data scientists and analysts, and apply DevOps and CI/CD to keep data products reliable and scalable.

A strong background in Python/SQL or Scala, Databricks or Snowflake, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP) is required, plus fluency in Dutch and English.

Qualifications

• A completed technical college or university education.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, with project leadership preferred.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL or Scala and Apache Spark knowledge.
• Experience building data pipelines and platforms like Databricks or Snowflake.
• Cloud experience with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Interest in new tech such as DBT, Fivetran, Dagster and open source tools.
• Nice to have familiarity with streaming frameworks like Kafka and data governance.
• Excellent Dutch and English communication.
