Job summary

Jobgether, on behalf of its partner, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (YDB Team) based in the Netherlands to work on highly scalable infrastructure powering AI and cloud workloads. You will contribute to an open-source distributed database and storage platform, focusing on low-latency, high-performance C++ engineering and optimization.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers in an international setting, own engineering challenges end-to-end, and help deliver robust technical solutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional C/C++ in highly loaded systems.
• Strong understanding of CPU caches, NUMA architectures, and low-level concepts.
• Experience debugging production issues using core dumps, flame graphs, and related tools.
• Strong systems programming and performance optimization skills with analytical approach.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize YDB components to use modern hardware effectively.
• Improve performance across storage tech including HDDs and TLC NVMe.
• Reengineer components with efficient algorithms for scalability and reliability.
• Design high-performance, low-latency software for heavily loaded systems.
• Analyze system behavior and identify bottlenecks using profiling and debugging.
• Work on distributed storage and database infrastructure for AI/cloud workloads.
• Contribute to reliability, availability, and durability of distributed systems.
• Participate in incident investigation and implement lasting improvements.
• Collaborate across infra, storage, networking, and AI teams for robust solutions.
• Contribute to open-source codebase and participate in design decisions.
• Take ownership from investigation to production deployment.
