Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Storage Engineer to design, implement, manage and maintain data storage systems. You will contribute to end-to-end storage infrastructure, including scalability, security, backups, and disaster recovery.

The role requires 5+ years Linux administration with storage focus, Ceph, enterprise storage systems, scripting, and familiarity with VMware/KVM and cloud storage like AWS S3. We value collaboration and rigorous operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Linux systems administration with a focus on storage (Ceph)
• Proven experience with enterprise storage systems (Purestorage, NetApp, EMC, Dell EMC, IBM, Hitachi)
• Strong understanding of RAID, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, multipathing, and file systems (ext4, XFS, ZFS)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems and clustering technologies
• Proficiency in shell scripting;
• Python, Puppet or Ansible knowledge with virtualization technologies such as VMware or KVM
• Familiarity with cloud storage solutions like AWS S3 and EBS
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix)

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy storage infrastructure (SAN, Object Storage) in line with organizational needs
• Monitor and maintain storage systems for optimal performance, availability, and reliability
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting for future storage needs
• Develop and implement backup, replication, and disaster recovery strategies
• Troubleshoot and resolve storage system issues
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and standards
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering teams on upgrades, migrations, and integrations
• Automate storage provisioning and management using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools
