Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Backend Engineer based in the Netherlands to join a highly autonomous team. You will design and build scalable backend services and APIs powering a global analytics platform using Node.js and TypeScript.

Collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams and leverage AI-assisted tools to improve productivity. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production backend development, strong DB/API design skills, and experience with CI/CD and modern cloud practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience building and maintaining backend services in production.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript with modern backend practices.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse).
• Strong API design, data modeling, and web architecture knowledge.
• Performance-oriented mindset: query optimization, latency, scalability, data processing.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) in development workflow.
• CI/CD and cloud deployment experience (Docker, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with unit, integration, and end-to-end testing methodologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Professional English and Spanish language skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and optimize APIs supporting analytics products with real-time and historical data.
• Work with large-scale data systems and databases (MySQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse).
• Ensure performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability of services.
• Shape architectural decisions and technical design for new features.
• Develop efficient data models and optimize queries and latency.
• Collaborate with product, data, and frontend teams across Agile cycles.
• Integrate AI-powered tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Contribute to testing strategies, deployment processes, and CI/CD practices.
• Navigate legacy code while building new services.
