Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer focusing on Core APIs with Site Reliability Engineering ownership. You will design and operate backend services at scale, balancing performance, reliability, and cost while collaborating with a fully remote, globally distributed team.

You will own SLIs/SLOs, enhance observability, automate operations, and mentor peers. Proficiency in Go and/or Node.js, Docker/Kubernetes, and Terraform is expected, with experience in Datadog and SQL-based data stores.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience, including production systems you helped build.
• Experience with formal SRE practices: error budgets, capacity planning, production readiness reviews, fault-injection and resilience testing.
• Strong hands-on experience with Go and/or Node.js, willingness to learn the other.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize highly performant backend services for real-time data processing and APIs, balancing reliability, latency, and cost.
• Define and own SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; use reliability data to guide decisions.
• Build observability with metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
