Job summary

Jobgether is partnering with a company seeking a Security Engineer (AppSec / GRC / AI Security) based in the Netherlands. You will own security end-to-end across a large-scale platform serving 50M+ users, focusing on application security, risk, and AI security threats.

You will work closely with engineering leadership to identify vulnerabilities and drive remediation. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role able to work remotely from Europe, with CET overlap and occasional evening/weekend

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of hands-on experience in security engineering or a related role.
• Strong application security expertise including code reviews, vulnerability identification and remediation.
• Experience coordinating security audits and penetration tests and following up on findings.
• Comfortable working with code, Git and GitHub alongside software engineers.
• Practical scripting skills, preferably Python or Bash, to improve security workflows.

Responsibilities

• Review code, identify vulnerabilities, and implement remediation with developers.
• Coordinate external penetration tests, security assessments and audits.
• Build and maintain the security risk register and prioritize remediation by risk.
• Monitor security alerts, investigate threats, and respond to incidents.
• Develop and maintain security awareness initiatives and phishing simulations.
• Manage onboarding/offboarding, device security and access controls.
• Identify and monitor AI security vulnerabilities in generative AI platforms.
• Own security operations and coordinate remediation across the platform.
• Collaborate with engineering leadership to integrate security into development workflows.
