Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior Manager of Application Security in the Netherlands for a fully remote role. You will lead an evolving security function, guiding security strategy, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure dev practices across engineering teams while aligning with compliance and executive stakeholders.

The role combines hands-on security work with people leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and AI-enabled security initiatives to scale a growing SaaS platform.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of security experience, with hands-on app security work.
• Proven track record building or maturing an application security program.
• Strong knowledge of secure software design and OWASP principles.
• Ability to read code, evaluate web/API architectures, and work with engineers on remediation.
• 2+ years of people management with direction and coaching.
• Experience leading security initiatives while staying hands-on.
• Experience with AI-assisted security tools and AI-driven workflows.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the application security roadmap including vulnerability management and threat modeling.
• Conduct hands-on security reviews and triage vulnerabilities with engineers.
• Embed security-by-default throughout SDLC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and implement an AI-first application security strategy with validation oversight.
• Collaborate with engineering to avoid delivery bottlenecks while improving security.
• Oversee third-party/vendor security assessments to ensure vendor compliance.
• Establish zero-trust principles and coordinate IAM, logging, and alerting with cloud teams.
• Lead application-layer incident response and coordinate with infra on cloud incidents.
• Support the Compliance Lead and IT team with strategic direction and development.
• Align application security with IT and compliance under unified roadmaps.
