Job summary

Nutreco is seeking a Senior Accountant to own the Romanian entity's accounting agenda from its Prague-based team. You will manage the full cycle, ensure regulatory compliance, prepare financial statements, and handle VAT and corporate tax filings in line with Romanian regulations.

The role requires fluent Romanian, independence, strong Excel skills, and ERP experience (M3/Movex). Flexible work arrangements are offered within Prague offices with parking.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting with Romanian regulations and tax rules.

• Fluency in Romanian is essential.
• Basic to intermediate English and/or Czech.
• Strong MS Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting cycle for the Romanian entity under Romanian law.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, audit docs and reconciliations.
• Create and issue invoices with proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare and file VAT, corporate tax and other statutory filings.
• Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance.
• Process supplier invoices and AR/AP reconciliations.
• Post bank statements and prepare payments.
• Handle SAF-T, e-invoicing and Intrastat reporting as applicable.
• Support master data, internal control activities and credit risk processes.
• Participate in additional accounting activities as needed.

Are you an experienced accountant with a strong knowledge of Romanian accounting and tax regulations? Do you enjoy working independently, taking ownership, and being part of an international company with a stable and supportive environment?

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Senior Accountant who speaks fluent Romanian and is ready to take full responsibility for the accounting agenda of our Romanian entity.

What will you be responsible for?

• Managing the full accounting cycle for our Romanian entity, ensuring compliance with Romanian accounting and tax legislation
• Preparing monthly and annual financial statements, audit documentation, and reconciliation activities
• Creating and issuing invoices and ensuring their accurate accounting treatment
• Preparing and submitting tax returns (VAT, corporate income tax, and other statutory filings required by Romanian legislation) & VAT return by Bulgarian legislation.
• Monitoring changes in Romanian accounting and tax regulations and ensuring ongoing compliance
• Processing supplier invoices (stock and non-stock related)
• Managing and reconciling accounts receivable and accounts payable balances, including offsets
• Posting bank statements and preparing payment instructions
• Handling statutory reporting including SAF-T, e-invoicing and, in the future, Intrastat reporting
• Supporting customer master data administration, internal control activities, and customer credit risk processes
• Participating in additional accounting activities as needed

What are we looking for?

• Previous experience in accounting with a solid understanding of Romanian accounting and tax regulations
• Ability to work independently, organize priorities effectively, and take ownership of responsibilities
• Fluency in Romanian is essential
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of Czech and/or English
• Good MS Office skills, especially Excel
• Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of M3 (Movex) is an advantage
• Positive, professional, and proactive approach
