Job summary

Booking.com is seeking a Senior Accountant for PbB Payment Accounting Month Close in Amsterdam. The role combines hands-on close execution with analytical review, control ownership, and continuous improvement across payment-accounting processes.

You will collaborate with Payments Operations, Finance, Product, Engineering, Treasury, Tax, Legal Entity Controllers, and other stakeholders to ensure complete, accurate, and auditable financial information in line with US GAAP and regulatory

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience in a complex/ international environment.
• Strong experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Good knowledge of US GAAP and applying it to complex payment/ intercompany transactions.
• Experience executing SOx or internal control activities and providing control evidence.
• Experience supporting audits, statutory reporting, tax requests, or regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end month-end close for PbB accounting scope, including planning, execution, review, and timely completion.
• Perform monthly reconciliations and post journal entries (accruals, prepayments, reallocations, intercompany).
• Maintain accurate general ledgers and ensure transactions reconcile to sub-ledgers and source systems.
• Investigate variances, identify root causes, and drive resolution with stakeholders.
• Prepare analyses, balance sheet reconciliations, and close documentation for audit trails.
