Job summary

The Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation invites applications for a part-time classroom assistant in The Hague. You will work with the class teacher to support science lessons, ensuring a safe, organized, and engaging practical environment for students.

You’ll contribute to student guidance, prepare materials, and assist with classroom management across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Training is provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to guide and correct student behaviour.
• Practically oriented knowledge of student guidance and educational support.
• Familiarity with group processes to effectively manage classroom dynamics.
• Calm and patient under pressure, with a genuine interest in working with students.

Responsibilities

• Actively manage and guide student behaviour during science lessons, providing clear corrections aligned with teacher expectations.
• Guide individual students or small groups with activities after instruction.
• Ensure students listen, stay tidy, concentrate, and ask questions during practical activities.
• Assist with educational arrangements and support plans in consultation with the teacher.
• Log incidents in school systems in consultation with the teacher.
