Job summary

Fluence is seeking a SCADA Network Engineer to support Battery Energy Storage Systems across the EMEA region. You will combine SCADA, networking, cybersecurity, and system integration expertise to deliver reliable solutions.

Responsibilities include leading project requirements, integrating control systems with SCADA environments, documenting architectures, and collaborating with Field Service Engineers to resolve complex issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in SCADA, OT, industrial networking, power generation, utilities, or a related industry.
• Hands-on experience with industry protocols such as IEC 60870-5-101/104, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, TCP/IP, OPC, and related technologies.
• Strong understanding of SCADA systems, RTUs, PLCs, relays, gateways, data concentrators, and industrial communication infrastructure.
• Knowledge of network architecture, OSI layers, routing, switching, firewalls, VPN technologies, and industrial Ethernet environments.
• Familiarity with Linux-based systems, scripting languages such as Python or Bash, and version control tools such as GitHub.

Responsibilities

• Lead project-specific requirements related to SCADA, monitoring, networking, cybersecurity, system architecture, and equipment integration for Battery Energy Storage Systems.
• Support integration of Fluence control systems with TSO and customer SCADA environments, ensuring seamless communication and compliance.
• Develop and maintain core system documentation including network architectures and diagrams.
• Collaborate with Field Service Engineers to troubleshoot and implement solutions across SCADA and network environments.
• Support testing activities for upgrades, modifications, and change orders; develop validation procedures.
• Participate in hands-on laboratory testing and evaluation of new technologies and system enhancements.
• Act as technical interface for customers, partners, and subcontractors on SCADA, networking and compliance.
• Monitor system performance, investigate issues, and use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve problems.
• Conduct root cause analyses to improve reliability and long-term performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate change management and technical records.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies and cybersecurity best practices.
• Provide technical reporting and performance recommendations to stakeholders.
• Track operational metrics and support safety initiatives.
• Travel across EMEA region as required.
