An innovative molecular diagnostics company is seeking a commercially driven Sales Manager to support the market introduction and growth of its first product within oncology.
This is an opportunity to join an early-stage diagnostics business at an important point in its development, helping take a novel molecular diagnostic solution from late-stage development into commercial adoption.
The role will combine business development, sales execution and go-to-market implementation. Working closely with the senior leadership team, the successful candidate will identify early adopters, build relationships with key clinical and laboratory stakeholders, generate commercial opportunities and support the wider launch strategy.
This position would suit someone with strong experience within molecular diagnostics, oncology, IVD or clinical genomics who is looking for greater ownership over how a new diagnostic product is brought to market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales activities supporting the launch and commercialisation of a new molecular oncology product.
- Identify and engage prospective customers across molecular pathology laboratories, hospital laboratories, oncology centres and specialist clinical institutions.
- Build relationships with laboratory directors, pathologists, molecular biologists, oncologists and other relevant clinical stakeholders.
- Identify potential early-adopter and reference sites.
- Develop new business across priority European and international markets.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers and partners.
- Support the implementation of the company's go-to-market strategy.
- Gather market and customer feedback to support product positioning, messaging, pricing and future development.
- Understand customer workflows and demonstrate how the product can integrate within existing molecular diagnostic environments.
- Develop relationships with Key Opinion Leaders within oncology and molecular diagnostics.
- Identify potential laboratory, distribution and commercial partnerships.
- Represent the organisation at relevant oncology, pathology and molecular diagnostics conferences.
- Manage opportunities through the full commercial cycle from initial engagement through evaluation and agreement.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting and commercial activity.
- Work closely with scientific, clinical and management teams to ensure market feedback is incorporated into commercial planning.
Experience & Background

- Experience selling technically complex diagnostic products, assays or laboratory solutions.
- Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics and clinical laboratory workflows.
- Experience engaging pathologists, laboratory directors, oncologists, molecular biologists or similar stakeholders.
- Previous exposure to launching or commercialising a new diagnostic technology would be advantageous.
- Experience within a start-up, scale-up or entrepreneurial environment is beneficial.
- Strong consultative-selling and relationship-building capabilities.
- The ability to work independently and generate opportunities within an emerging market.
