Job summary

JPGray - Netherlands is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Specialist to join its Rotterdam team. You will own the full ocean freight process from booking through invoicing in a fast-paced, international environment.

In this role you will coordinate with customers, carriers, and brokers, ensure compliance and top service levels, track shipments, and provide timely updates. Your focus will be on rate negotiation, cost optimization, and cross-functional collaboration for continual improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or similar.
• 2+ years of experience in ocean freight forwarding.
• Knowledge of shipping documentation, customs procedures, and Incoterms.
• Experience with TMS and CRM systems.
• Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end ocean freight process from booking to invoicing.
• Coordinate transport with carriers, agents, and logistics partners.
• Prepare shipping documentation and ensure compliance.
• Track shipments and provide customers with timely updates.
• Resolve operational issues and customer enquiries.
• Negotiate rates and optimise transport costs.
• Maintain accurate records in the TMS.
• Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Customs, and Warehousing teams.
• Drive continuous improvements in service, efficiency, and cost control.
