Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American invites applications for a Room Attendant. Join our landmark Art Nouveau hotel in Amsterdam’s Leidseplein and help create spotless, welcoming spaces for guests.

We seek a detail-driven, reliable team member with 1+ year in housekeeping, a good grasp of cleaning standards, and the ability to work independently while staying flexible to shifts and peak periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or a similar role (1+ year).
• Good understanding of cleaning standards and guest expectations.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Comfortable reading basic instructions in English (additional languages is a plus).
• Friendly, professional, respectful attitude toward guests and colleagues.
• Physically fit to be on your feet and move around the hotel.
• Flexible to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Own Your Room: take full ownership of assigned guest rooms, restock amenities, check equipment and report maintenance issues.
• Deliver Comfort with Care: make beds, clean bathrooms to high standards and ensure a welcoming space.
• Work Smart & Stay Organised: keep trolley and tools clean and stocked; follow daily task lists and checklists.
• Be a Team Player: communicate with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate room readiness and support the team.
• Prioritise Safety & Hygiene: follow hotel policies on hygiene, security, and health & safety.

Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American, part of the Dalata Hotel Group, is a 4-star, 173-room hotel nestled in one of the most beautiful art nouveau buildings in the Netherlands. Home to the legendary Café Americain and Bar Americain, you'll play a key role in preserving this unique property's quality, safety, and welcoming atmosphere.

Objective of the Role

As a Room Attendant at Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American, you'll play a vital role in delivering the comfort, cleanliness, and care our guests expect from a landmark hotel. From perfectly made beds to spotless bathrooms and thoughtful finishing touches, you'll take pride in creating a warm, inviting space that feels like home. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who enjoys working independently and as a part of our larger housekeeping team, has a sharp eye for detail, and understands that true hospitality begins with a beautifully clean room.

Key Responsibilities

Own Your Room

• Take full ownership of your assigned guest rooms, ensuring every space is spotless, fresh, and ready to impress.
• Restock amenities, linens, and toiletries with precision - the small touches matter.
• Check all room equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly to keep everything running smoothly.

Deliver Comfort with Care

• Make beds with crisp attention to detail, clean bathrooms to the highest standard, and leave every room feeling welcoming and warm.
• Handle guest belongings with care and follow lost & found procedures for anything left behind.

Work Smart & Stay Organised

• Keep your trolley and tools clean, stocked, and well-organised to support smooth and efficient service.
• Follow daily task lists and checklists to ensure nothing is missed - consistency is key.

Be a Team Player

• Communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate room readiness and solve challenges quickly.
• Support the wider housekeeping and hotel team as needed to create a seamless guest experience.

Prioritise Safety & Hygiene

• Always follow hotel policies on hygiene, security, and health & safety - protecting yourself, your team, and our guests.

What We're Looking For:
We're looking for a Room Attendant who brings energy, attention to detail, and a strong sense of pride in creating a clean, comfortable space for our guests. Here's what makes a great fit:

• Experience in housekeeping or a similar role - ideally 1+ year in a hotel or hospitality setting
• A good understanding of cleaning standards, hygiene, and guest expectations
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Comfortable reading basic instructions in English (bonus points for other languages!)
• A friendly, professional, and respectful attitude toward guests and colleagues
• Physically fit - you'll be on your feet, lifting linen, pushing trolleys, and moving quickly throughout your shift
• Flexible to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and during peak hotel periods
