Job summary

Tetra Pak is seeking a Resource Planner to secure the right resources at the right time, location, and with the necessary competencies for field services. The role collaborates with SARs, PMs, SDMs, TDEs, and Upgrade Managers to optimize utilization, minimize last‑minute changes, and enhance customer outcomes.

Based in Brussels or Utrecht, the position emphasizes planning excellence, competencies development, and continuous improvement in a global environment with diverse teams.

Qualifications

  • This role requires 3–5 years of experience as a mechanical/electrical/automation engineer in the food industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations management or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of service operations, workforce planning and capacity management.
  • Experience with planning and scheduling systems (FSM, SAP or equivalent).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; fluent in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule all field activities using FSM and approved planning tools.
  • Assign engineers based on skills, certifications, availability, and priorities.
  • Balance short- and mid-term demand with capacity; coordinate regional resources or outsourcing.
  • Ensure documentation and prerequisites are completed before field execution.
  • Analyze capacity, utilization trends, and future demands; identify bottlenecks.
  • Provide leadership with visibility on resource risks and shortages.

The Resource Planner is a key enabler of service excellence, responsible for securing the right resources at the right time, in the right location, and with the appropriate competencies to meet customer and business requirements. The role ensures accurate and predictable planning of field activities, internal competence development, and mandatory solution deployments. Leveraging planning expertise, knowledge of demand patterns, workforce capabilities, and planning systems, the Resource Planner works closely with Service Account Representatives (SARs), Project Managers, Service Delivery Managers (SDMs), Technical Delivery Experts (TDEs), CSO support teams, and Upgrade Managers to ensure reliable execution, minimize last‑minute changes, optimize resource utilization, and enhance customer satisfaction, operational performance, and safety. This is a permanent position located in Brussels or Utrecht.

What You Will Do
Operational Resource Planning & Scheduling
  • Utilize FSM and approved planning tools to schedule all field activities, including service interventions, projects, training, and mandatory solution deployments.
  • Ensure optimal assignment of engineers based on skills, certification levels, availability, customer requirements, and business priorities.
  • Support markets in balancing short- and mid-term demand against available capacity and coordinate capacity adjustment actions through regional resources, cross-market collaboration, or outsourcing channels where applicable.
  • Ensure all required documentation and planning prerequisites are completed before field execution.
Demand and Capacity Analysis
  • Analyze workforce capacity, skills availability, utilization trends, and future demands.
  • Identify capacity gaps, bottlenecks, and resource constraints and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Provide visibility to leadership regarding resource risks, shortages, and escalation opportunities.
Subject Matter Expert in Resource Planning
  • Own and understand planning processes and tools and use them during daily activities and interaction with stakeholders.
Competence Development Planning
  • Plan internal training demands following competence development competence development plans prepared by SDMs and TDEs, ensuring engineers have competences required for future market needs.
Profile Description
We believe you have
  • Required
    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an mechanical/electrical/automation engineer in food industry

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies and automation initiatives.
