Job summary

Jobgether, a partner company listed for a Netherlands-based Software Engineer – Storage role, seeks an experienced backend engineer to help build a high-performance object storage platform. You will work across client libraries, storage servers, edge networks, and deployment tooling to deliver scalable, reliable infrastructure used by developers worldwide.

Qualifications

At least 5 years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
Experience designing, building, or operating highly scalable distributed systems.
Comfort with full-stack work across backend and infrastructure deployment.
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).
Proven ability to tune performance and troubleshoot distributed services.
Strong PostgreSQL production experience including tuning.
Demonstrated ownership mindset and ability to drive projects end-to-end.
Appreciation for developer experience and reliable tooling.
Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, asynchronous, global team.

Responsibilities

Enhance storage capabilities and support open formats to enable analytics.
Develop asset optimization features to improve delivery speed.
Expand edge infrastructure to accelerate uploads and add cache invalidation.
Improve storage server performance through monitoring and optimization.
Build a fast, intuitive storage explorer in collaboration with frontend engineers.
Improve APIs, libraries, and CLI tools for a seamless development workflow.
Strengthen upload/download reliability across clients and environments.
Contribute to open source storage components and upstream dependencies.
Resolve escalated issues and implement systemic improvements.
Work across backend, deployment, monitoring, and service operations.
Drive projects end-to-end from problem definition to delivery and iteration.
