Job summary

Adyen, a leading payments platform, seeks a Senior Storage Engineer in Amsterdam to design, implement, and maintain data storage infrastructure including SAN and object storage with emphasis on scalability, reliability, and security.

You will partner with Platform Engineering to ensure high availability, perform capacity planning, backups, DR, and automate storage provisioning using scripting and IaC. 5+ years Linux storage experience and Ceph expertise are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux storage administration experience with a focus on storage (e.g., Ceph).
• Experience with enterprise storage systems (e.g., Purestorage, NetApp, EMC, Dell, IBM, Hitachi).
• Strong understanding of RAID, LVM, NFS, iSCSI, multipathing, and file systems (ext4, XFS, ZFS).
• Hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems and clustering technologies.
• Proficiency in shell scripting.
• Experience with Python, Puppet or Ansible; familiarity with virtualization (VMware/KVM).
• Familiarity with AWS S3 and EBS cloud storage solutions.
• Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, Zabbix).

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy storage infrastructure (SAN, Object Storage) in accordance with organizational needs.
• Monitor and maintain storage systems to guarantee optimal performance, availability, and reliability.
• Perform capacity planning and forecasting for future storage needs.
• Develop and implement strategies for backup, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to storage systems.
• Maintain documentation of configurations, procedures, and standards.
• Collaborate with other Platform Engineering teams on upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
• Automate storage provisioning and management using scripting or infrastructure-as-code tools
