Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior ICT Technician to own IT operations for a fully remote, globally distributed team. You will manage end-user devices, IAM, server infrastructure, and automation with Ansible, while upholding strong security and GDPR alignment across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments.

You will collaborate with cloud engineering, implement self-service and documentation, and ensure seamless productivity for an open-source and privacy‑focused organization.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in IT administration, systems administration, or a similar technical support role, ideally within a remote-first or geographically distributed organization.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible for configuration management and infrastructure automation.
• Strong Linux administration skills, including server maintenance, troubleshooting, and firewall configuration.
• Practical experience supporting users across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments.
• Experience administering Google Workspace, SSO, MFA, and password management solutions.
• Ability to write scripts in Bash, Python, or similar languages to automate tasks.
• Understanding of endpoint protection, access controls, secure configuration, patching, and incident response procedures.
• Strong written communication skills in English; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.

Responsibilities

• <p>Manage End-User IT Support: Set up, configure, and maintain employee computers across macOS, Windows, and Linux; troubleshoot global IT issues.</p>
• <p>Own Identity and Access Management: Administer Google Workspace, SSO, MFA, and password management; manage access lifecycles.</p>
• <p>Maintain Internal IT Systems: Oversee employee-facing apps and internal services for availability and security.</p>
• <p>Support Server Infrastructure: Collaborate with cloud engineering; perform Linux administration, firewall configuration, and incident response.</p>
• <p>Automate IT Operations: Develop automation for provisioning, configuration, patching, and onboarding/offboarding using Ansible and scripts.</p>
• <p>Manage SaaS Tools and Vendors: Handle configuration, licensing, renewals, and cost controls for Slack, Jira, Google Workspace, etc.</p>
• <p>Strengthen Security and Compliance: Define standards, conduct access reviews, align with GDPR and security frameworks.</p>
• <p>Respond to Security Incidents: Investigate incidents; coordinate remediation and follow-up improvements.</p>
• <p>Maintain Documentation: Document systems and runbooks in an internal knowledge base for self-service support.</p>
• <p>Continuously Improve IT Operations: Seek opportunities to simplify workflows, boost reliability, and reduce manual work through automation.</p>
