Job summary

Jobgether is helping a partner company locate an English-to-German linguist and copy editor for product, marketing and UI content. This freelance, fully remote role is based in the Netherlands and supports content for Germany and Switzerland.

You will translate, copy-edit, and MTPE across a range of materials while maintaining high linguistic standards. You will work with CAT tools, manage a weekly workload of 5,000+ words, meet deadlines, and collaborate with a global network of language

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in German for Germany and/or Switzerland.
• Excellent command of US English (en-US).
• At least 2 years of translation experience with a degree in Translation, Linguistics, or related field; or at least 5 years without a degree.
• Experience translating across marketing, product, UI, support, and informational materials.
• Practical experience using CAT tools.
• Attention to detail and high-quality translations.
• Strong time-management and ability to meet deadlines with a large weekly workload.
• Excellent communication, responsiveness, reliability, and feedback incorporation.
• Ability to freelance independently while collaborating with a global team.

Responsibilities

• Translate content from US English into German for de-DE and/or de-CH.
• Copy-edit and refine German-language content for clarity and consistency.
• Perform MT post-editing to meet professional standards.
• Work across marketing, product, UI content, support, and informational materials.
• Use CAT tools and the client’s translation platform to manage assignments.
• Handle a weekly workload of 5,000+ words with timely delivery.
• Communicate with project stakeholders and incorporate revisions.
