Job summary

New Balance Europe B.V. is seeking an HR Generalist to provide operational HR support across multiple European countries from Amsterdam.

You will be the first point of contact for managers and associates, ensuring compliant HR practices and data integrity in systems like Workday. The role requires fluent English and Spanish, strong employment law knowledge, and experience in a multi-country or retail environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an HR Advisory/Generalist role in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English and Spanish; additional European languages are an advantage.
• Spanish legislation knowledge is beneficial.
• Experience working in multi-country and/or retail or matrix environments is highly desirable.
• Solid understanding of employment law with willingness to broaden country knowledge.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build stakeholder relationships.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proactive, hands-on and solutions-oriented mindset; discretion with confidential information.
• Proficiency with HRIS systems (Workday) and MS Office

Responsibilities

• Act as a first-line advisory support for managers and associates on HR policy and day-to-day queries.
• Coach managers on employee relations matters such as absence, disciplinary actions, grievances and flexible working requests.
• Ensure consistent, fair, and compliant application of employment law across countries in scope.
• Manage employee relations casework end-to-end under guidance from Territory HR Manager.
• Ensure onboarding of new starters and offboarding in collaboration with HR Operations.
• Support manager training on policies and procedures with the Territory HR Manager.
• Maintain accurate HR data in systems (Workday) and ensure data integrity.
• Monitor HR inboxes and provide timely, high-quality responses.
• Assist with probation reviews, Right to Work checks, and contractual changes.
• Create/update associate-facing materials and HR documentation; support reporting and analytics.
• Contribute to HR projects, initiatives and wellbeing programs across the territory.
