Job summary

Innovation Cluster Drachten seeks an experienced Quality Manager at our Sneek production site, responsible for maintaining the high precision and safety standards of turbine blades. You will lead a 7-person quality team, collaborate with CNC operators, inspectors, and production management, and drive corrective actions and certification compliance.

You will oversee the quality system, run audits, develop quality plans, review inspection data, and communicate with customers on specs and NCRs.

Qualifications

• HBO level engineering background in mechanical/industrial/quality fields.
• Experience with quality management in production, metalworking or high-precision manufacturing.
• Knowledge of measurement and inspection techniques (CMM, 3D scanning, roughness, tolerances).
• Understanding of CNC milling/manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and improves the quality management system for the production site.
• Analyzes production deviations and translates findings into concrete improvement measures.
• Supports workforce on quality issues in CNC milling, heat treatment, and precision measuring.
• Performs internal audits and supervises external audits and certification processes.
• Establishes product and process quality plans and ensures proper compliance.
• Reviews complex measurement reports, material certificates, and product specifications.
• Works with quality inspectors on checking dimensions, tolerances, surfaces, and final inspections.
• Maintains contact with customers regarding specs, rejections, NCRs, and corrective actions.
• Identifies bottlenecks in production processes and initiates LEAN improvement projects and root cause analyses.
• Coaches colleagues on quality awareness and proper work instructions and standards.
• Responsible for quality planning and prioritization of tasks.
• Functionally manages the quality team (7 FTE) and ensures development and alignment.
