Job summary

• Lean and Six Sigma knowledge, and experience with NPI processes preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Are you passionate about quality, process control and operational excellence in a high-tech manufacturing environment? Do you enjoy solving complex problems while building sustainable improvements? We are looking for a Quality Engineer who combines hands‑on support on the shop floor with a structured approach to process improvement and quality assurance. In this role, you are the connecting link between Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and our customers. You act as a quality expert, coach teams in problem solving and towards a proactive quality culture. You ensure that new products and processes are introduced with robust quality controls in place.

The Position

As a Quality Engineer, you play a key role in both daily operations and new product introductions. You safeguard customer quality requirements throughout the product lifecycle, drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, reduce variation in the process and improve process stability, and verify and validate implementations on preventive actions. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, suppliers and customers, you translate quality requirements into practical manufacturing solutions and take the lead in adding to a culture of operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Process Control

• Ensure compliance with customer quality requirements throughout the manufacturing process.
• Develop, maintain and improve Process FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA studies and quality documentation.
• Establish and roll out process control methodologies within production.
• Drive Statistical Process Control (SPC) implementation and support data‑driven decision making.
• Maintain the relationship between product quality and process assurance.
• Promote a proactive quality culture focused on prevention rather than firefighting.

Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement

• Lead complex quality investigations using methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D Problem Solving, DMAIC, and Six Sigma tools.
• Handle internal and external quality complaints and implement structural corrective actions.
• Analyse deviations, trends and performance data to identify improvement opportunities and take the lead in realising these.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Responsible for quality deliverables during project introductions and industrialization activities.
• Take the lead in implementing robust manufacturing and quality processes.
• Define and deploy process controls during new product introductions.
• Ensure customer quality requirements are translated into production processes and supplier expectations.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor or Master degree (HBO/WO) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, Technical Business Administration, or a comparable technical discipline.
• Experience within a high‑tech manufacturing, mechatronics or engineering environment.
• Experience with assembly processes and industrial manufacturing operations.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing (5S, 6S), Six Sigma methodologies, and Continuous Improvement programs.
• Knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes is preferred.
• Experience with quality systems, MES and ERP environments.
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is considered an advantage.
