Brainboss Associates B.V is seeking an experienced project manager to oversee IT Portfolio Management implementations for clients across industries. You will lead the portfolio from planning to delivery, governance, and continuous improvement, driving value delivery and alignment with strategic goals.

You will manage multi-project portfolios, mitigate risks, report progress, and coach teams. The role requires 7+ years in project/programme/portfolio management, English and Dutch C1, and relevant

Qualifications

• 7+ years experience as a project manager, programme manager, or portfolio manager.
• 7+ years in (IT) change management or transformation with successful delivery.
• Higher education degree (Bachelor's/Master's).
• Fluent in English and Dutch (C1).
• Experience in financial services or government industry is a plus.
• Hands-on ability to define strategies and bring them to life.
• Agile methodologies knowledge and/or certifications (Scrum/SAFe/DevOps).
• PM certifications such as LPM/LPO, LSBB, Prince2, PMP, Lean Sigma Black Belt; PSM I preferred.

As an experienced project manager, you will oversee the implementation and optimisation of IT Portfolio Management processes and the associated tools for organisations seeking to enhance their business agility. Key Responsibilities:

• Project management : Manage and oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities and strategic goals. Manage the entire project lifecycle, from planning to delivery and closure.

• Project planning & execution : Create detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, establishing clear milestones and timelines for successful project delivery.

• Risk & issue management : Proactively identify and manage project risks, making necessary adjustments to mitigate issues and ensure deliverables meet business quality standards.

• Progress monitoring & reporting : Monitor progress across multiple projects within the portfolio, making data‑driven adjustments as required.

• Stakeholder communication : Facilitate project meetings and ensure clear communication across teams and stakeholders. Present portfolio‑level updates and maintain alignment with broader objectives.

• Portfolio optimisation : Collaborate closely with senior leadership to evaluate project portfolio health, prioritise initiatives, and allocate resources effectively across projects to maximise strategic impact.

• Continuous learning : Stay updated with industry trends and best practices, enhancing both your skills and the team's capabilities.

• Coaching : Demonstrate the ability to coach colleagues and improve team performance.

You’re a perfect fit if you:

• Have 7+ years experience as a project manager, programme manager, or portfolio manager.

• Have 7+ years of experience in (IT) change management or transformation, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects.

• Have a higher education degree (Bachelor's/Master's).

• Are fluent in English and Dutch (minimum C1 level).

• Have experience in the financial services industry (retail, leasing insurance, banking, etc.. ) OR government industry (several ministries).

• Are a hands‑on person. You are able to define strategies and bring them to life within a team.

• Have agile methodologies and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, DevOps) knowledge, experience and/or certifications.

• LPM/LPO, LSBB, Prince 2, PMP, Lean Sigma Black Belt, or similar project management certifications.

• Preferably PSM I.

• Have strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and teams at all levels.

• Have excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

• Thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

• Have a passion for continuous learning.
