Job summary

Van Storm Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer to bridge engineering, production, customers, and field teams during HVAC installations for luxury yachts. You’ll influence the lifecycle from design to delivery and may take full project ownership on smaller vessels.

Ideal candidates have a technical mindset, strong planning skills, and enjoy travel to support international projects. The role blends engineering with commercial coordination.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics engineering or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of physics and mathematics.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks.
  • Good communication and coordination with customers and technical colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the engineering and technical preparation of HVAC installations for luxury yachts.
  • Support projects from design and engineering through to inspection and delivery.
  • Act as a technical point of contact for engineering-related matters.
  • Coordinate with customers, engineering colleagues, production teams, and field staff.
  • Prepare and maintain project planning to ensure resources are available when required.
  • Review and check technical engineering work and support drafting activities when necessary.
  • Support work preparation and the smooth technical execution of projects.
  • Work on complete projects or specific scopes depending on vessel size and complexity.
  • Occasionally travel internationally to support projects and customers.

Job description

As a Project Engineer, you will be an important link between engineering, production, customers, and colleagues working in the field. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from the design and preparation of HVAC installations for luxury yachts through to inspection and delivery.

Your responsibilities will vary depending on the size and complexity of the vessel. On a large superyacht, you may be responsible for a specific part of the overall project, while on smaller projects you can take responsibility for the complete engineering scope.

You will act as a key point of contact for engineering matters and help ensure that people, materials, technical information, and planning come together at the right moment. The position can also be shaped around your strengths, whether you are more technically or commercially oriented.
