Job summary

DSJ Global is seeking a Project Engineer to join a large-scale food and beverage manufacturing site in Amsterdam, Netherlands. You will own investment and improvement projects from concept through execution, collaborating with production, maintenance, suppliers and contractors to deliver results.

The role offers exposure across process, mechanical and utility systems, with emphasis on safety, efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Process, Chemical, Industrial Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years delivering engineering or capital projects within manufacturing.
• Strong Dutch and English communication skills; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from concept through to completion.
• Develop project scopes, investment proposals, budgets, and timelines.
• Create technical specifications, layouts, equipment requirements, and design documentation.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary projects across process, mechanical, and utility systems.
• Manage external suppliers, contractors, and engineering partners.
• Work with Production, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, Procurement and Leadership teams.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, start-up and handover activities.
• Maintain project documentation and capture lessons learned.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Project Engineer to join a large-scale manufacturing site in Amsterdam, Netherlands. You'll take ownership of investment and improvement projects from concept through to execution, working closely with production, maintenance, suppliers and contractors.

Projects can range from equipment upgrades and process improvements to safety, efficiency and sustainability initiatives, giving you broad exposure across engineering disciplines while allowing you to make a visible contribution to the site's future development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience delivering engineering or capital projects within manufacturing, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, or process industries.
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
• Experience in the Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Chemical manufacturing industries is preferred
• Any other processing industry will be considered
