Job description

Amsterdam | Full-time | €2,500–€3,500 gross per month

Agurotech develops smart hardware and software that helps farmers make better decisions about irrigation, water use and crop management. Our technology is used by growers across multiple countries, and we are now bringing an important part of our hardware production back in-house in Amsterdam.

We are looking for a Production Assembly Technician who takes pride in building high-quality physical products.

This is a hands-on production role. You will personally assemble, test and prepare thousands of Agurotech

devices every year.

If you enjoy working with your hands, following a precise process and seeing a high-quality finished product at the end of the day, this could be a great fit.

What you will do

Your main responsibility is the assembly, testing and quality control of our hardware products.

You will:

  • Assemble approximately 2,000–3,000 soil sensors per year, alongside smaller volumes of weather
  • stations, crop temperature sensors and other hardware products.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using electronic and mechanical components, PCBs, tubes, enclosures
  • and other parts.
  • Carry out gluing, epoxy and curing steps according to detailed work instructions.
  • Perform final assembly and product finishing.
  • Test finished products and perform defined quality-control checks.
  • Test PCBs and components according to established procedures.
  • Perform basic soldering work where required.
  • Record serial numbers, batches, test results and production status accurately.
  • Identify defects or deviations and elevate them rather than improvising or changing the production
  • process.
  • Keep your workstation, components, tools and work-in-progress organised.
  • Help prepare finished products for shipment where required.

As our production volumes grow, you may also help train temporary or part-time production staff in clearly

defined assembly activities.

Who we are looking for

Your exact educational background is less important to us than how you work.

You may have an MBO background in mechatronics, electronics, mechanical engineering or another technical field. Alternatively, you may have built up relevant experience through practical production work.

Relevant backgrounds could include:

  • Electronics assembly
  • Medical‑device manufacturing
  • Fine mechanical assembly
  • Equipment or machine assembly
  • Technical production
  • PCB assembly or testing
  • Other manufacturing environments where accuracy and quality are important

You:

  • Enjoy practical, hands‑on work.
  • Are precise, patient and consistent.
  • Are comfortable performing detailed assembly processes repeatedly.
  • Can follow written work instructions step by step.
  • Understand that small production deviations can affect product reliability.
  • Notice when something differs from the expected process or result.Ask when something is unclear rather than improvising.
  • Work neatly and accurately.
  • Are comfortable working with tools, electronics and small components.
  • Can work independently without cutting corners.
  • Can follow detailed instructions in English.
  • Experience with soldering is an advantage, but not essential if you are willing and able to learn.
This role is probably a good fit if…

You like creating something tangible.

You enjoy becoming faster and better at a production process without compromising on quality.

You take satisfaction from knowing that the products you build have been assembled correctly and will work reliably for customers in the field.

And importantly: you genuinely enjoy hands‑on production work.

This is not a production‑management position. Even as you gain experience, a significant part of your working week will continue to be spent personally assembling and testing our products.

If your main ambition is to move away from hands‑on work as quickly as possible and primarily manage others, this is probably not the right position.

If you enjoy becoming exceptionally good at building reliable technical products, it probably is.

What we offer
  • €3,000–€3,500 gross per month, based on 40 hours per week and depending on experience.
  • Training on our products, production processes, testing equipment and soldering where required.
  • A practical technical role with a high level of independence.
  • The opportunity to become one of Agurotech's key in‑house specialists in hardware production.
  • A growing international technology company where the quality of your work directly affects products
  • used by farmers in the field.
Our selection process

For this position, practical ability matters more to us than having the perfect CV. As part of the selection process, we will therefore ask candidates to complete a short practical assembly

We want to understand how you work: how carefully you follow instructions, how you handle components, whether you notice deviations and how you approach quality. If this sounds like the kind of work you enjoy, we would be happy to hear from you!
