Job description

Healthplus.ai is a 15-person start-up based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We are all driven to improve surgery care for both patients and professionals. Our team members are ambitious, proactive, transparent and eager to learn.

Our first software as a medical device, PERISCOPE®, has been CE-certified and we are now onboarding the first customers across the Netherlands, Belgium and further abroad. With PERISCOPE®’s reliable infection risk scores, action can be taken to discharge patients more safely and treat infections earlier, greatly improving patient outcomes and reducing their length of stay at the hospital. Our ambitions are global and we have partners across Europe and the US.

We also work closely with major hospital software vendors, like ChipSoft and Microsoft, to provide reliable and easy ways to offer and maintain PERISCOPE® for physician and nurse end-users in hospitals.

Job introduction

As our new Product Owner, you will be responsible for maximizing the value of our product by translating user needs, clinical insights and business objectives into a clear and executable product strategy.

You will own the product roadmap and backlog and work closely with our technical, clinical, QA/RA and commercial teams. Your mission is to make sure we are building the right things, in the right order, and that our development efforts result in meaningful value for clinicians, hospitals and patients.

Your product activities include:

  • Defining and maintaining the product vision and roadmap in alignment with our company strategy
  • Managing and prioritizing the product backlog based on user, clinical and business needs
  • Translating user needs and insights into clear product requirements
  • Defining sprint goals and priorities together with our technical teams
  • Monitoring product development progress and validating outcomes per iteration
  • Coordinating feasibility across clinical, technical and business perspectives
  • Aligning stakeholders across product, tech, clinical, QA/RA and commercial teams
  • Supporting go-to-market readiness and product communication
  • Identifying product risks in collaboration with QA/RA and leadership
  • Proactively drives continuous product improvement, with a strong focus on increasing user adoption.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and stays up to date with relevant market developments and trends.
  • Accelerating product development from roadmap to getting it live and certified

A key part of the role is staying close to our users and the clinical environment in which PERISCOPE® is used. You will independently gather and translate real-world insights into product decisions.

These activities include:

  • Conducting clinical observations and interviews with healthcare professionals
  • Performing user research, satisfaction assessments and qualitative and quantitative studies
  • Structuring and using user feedback, clinical input and real-world data to continuously improve the product
  • Providing clinical and scientific input to ensure product decisions are informed by the broader clinical context
  • Supporting Medical Affairs activities, including clinical data interpretation and infection definition reviews
  • Contributing to educational initiatives and reviewing scientific and marketing materials
What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an energetic and structured Product Owner who enjoys operating at the intersection of healthcare, technology and business. You are comfortable working with different disciplines, can turn complex needs into clear priorities, and know how to keep both the bigger picture and the details in sight.

To thrive in this role, you bring:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree
  • Experience in product management
  • Experience working with Agile, Scrum or Lean methodologies
  • Strong planning, prioritization and organisational skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • The ability to translate user needs into clear product requirements and priorities
  • The ability to balance detailed requirements with the overall product vision
  • A basic understanding of business functions such as marketing, sales, operations and finance

Additionally, we would value:

  • Experience working in a regulated healthcare or medical device environment, combined with strong clinical or hospital domain knowledge.
  • Experience conducting user research and interacting directly with healthcare professionals
  • Experience translating clinical insights into product decisions
  • A basic understanding of data analysis or the technology used within digital health products
  • Familiarity with medical device regulations and quality standards, such as ISO 13485 and CE marking, is a strong plus.
What we offer
  • A dynamic working environment in a small team with a horizontal management structure where everyone’s input is very much valued
  • The chance to grow alongside a scaling team and company
  • A unique opportunity to help shape a truly innovative product at the forefront of bringing AI into hospitals and to make a tangible impact on healthcare and outcomes for surgical patients.
  • Work for and together with leading hospital clients and partners around the world
  • A role with significant ownership over our product roadmap and development priorities
  • Informal working environment and flexible hours
  • A competitive salary 60-80k euro gross/year (including holiday allowance) depending on experience, plus we have put aside a share in the company for our staff
  • 25 vacation days to ensure a healthy work-life balance
