Job summary

Making Waves, Amsterdam-based events organisation, is hiring an experienced producer. You will lead end-to-end productions that bring together image, music and experience, coordinating orchestras, venues, studios, and international partners.

You will guide a small production team, manage budgets, and report to the Head of Production, while driving growth and delivering high‑quality, international live events.

Making Waves is een ambitieuze evenementenorganisatie actief binnen de dance- en theatersector. Met merken als Cinema in Concert, ZeeZout, By the Creek en Ohm Festival produceren we uiteenlopende live-evenementen: van filmconcerten in Het Concertgebouw en grootschalige concerten in Rotterdam Ahoy tot unieke festivals, club nachten en bijzondere cross-over events.

Over de rol

Als Producent bij Making Waves ben je verantwoordelijk voor de volledige productie van jouw evenementen. Je leidt zelfstandig producties end-to-end. Je bewaakt het overzicht, stuurt teams aan en bent het centrale aanspreekpunt voor alle betrokken partijen, van orkesten en filmstudio's tot venues, leveranciers en internationale partners. Jij zorgt dat complexe producties soepel verlopen, binnen planning en budget.

Samen met vier collega’s ben je als productieteam verantwoordelijk voor het produceren van al onze eigen evenementen, van festivals tot concerten.

Per productie stuur je het team aan en bewaak je het budget. Je pakt daarnaast ook zelf uitvoerend productiewerk op en rapporteert direct aan onze Head of Production.

Wat ga je doen?

• Evenementen van A tot Z produceren, van concept tot uitvoering, van Cinema in Concert-shows tot festivals en cross-over events
• Planningen en draaiboeken opstellen en bewaken
• Coördineren van alle technische, logistieke en productionele aspecten
• Leiding nemen tijdens shows: opbouw, uitvoering en afbouw
• Bijdragen aan de verdere professionalisering en internationalisering van onze productieprocessen
• Producties evalueren en lessen vertalen naar verbeteringen in volgende projecten

Wat breng je mee?

• 3–5 jaar ervaring als producent binnen theater, concerten, festivals of live-entertainment
• Affiniteit met evenementen, films en (dance) muziek
• Aantoonbare ervaring met complexe producties en meerdere stakeholders
• Sterk in organiseren, communiceren en prioriteren onder druk
• Stressbestendig, oplossingsgericht, besluitvaardig en flexibel
• Je wordt er enthousiast van om op grote en kleine schaal te produceren en te schakelen tussen meerdere projecten die tegelijkertijd spelen.
• Je beschikt over leidinggevende eigenschappen
• Je bent een flexibele en daadkrachtige teamspeler die zowel zelfstandig als in samenwerking met collega’s het overzicht bewaart, over sociale vaardigheden beschikt en bijdraagt aan een positieve werksfeer.
• Uitstekende beheersing van Nederlands en Engels (in woord en geschrift)
• Flexibel in werktijden en bereid om te reizen
• Je bent in het bezit van Rijbewijs B
• Pré: ervaring met Vectorworks, SCAD Re-Event of vergelijkbaar programma
• Pré: technische achtergrond of affiniteit met audio, video, licht of rigging
• Woonachtig in Amsterdam of omstreken

About the role

As a Producer at Making Waves you are responsible for the full production of your events. You independently lead productions end-to-end. You keep the overview, lead teams and are the central point of contact for all parties involved — from orchestras and film studios to venues, suppliers and international partners. You ensure complex productions run smoothly, on schedule and within budget.

Together with four colleagues, you form the production team responsible for producing all of our own events, from festivals to concerts.

For each production you lead the team and safeguard the budget. You also pick up hands‑on production work yourself and report directly to our Head of Production.

What will you do?

• Produce events from A to Z, from concept to execution — from Cinema in Concert shows to festivals and cross-over events
• Build and safeguard schedules and production plans
• Coordinate all technical, logistical and production‑related aspects
• Take the lead during shows: load‑in, execution and load‑out
• Contribute to the further professionalisation and internationalisation of our production processes
• Evaluate productions and translate lessons into improvements for future projects

What do you bring?

• 3–5 years of experience as a producer in theatre, concerts, festivals or live entertainment
• Affinity with events, films and (dance) music
• Demonstrable experience with complex productions and multiple stakeholders
• Strong in organising, communicating and prioritising under pressure
• Stress‑resistant, solution‑oriented, decisive and flexible
• You get energy from producing at both large and small scale and switching between multiple parallel projects
• Leadership qualities
• A flexible and decisive team player who keeps the overview both independently and in collaboration with colleagues, has strong interpersonal skills, and contributes to a positive working atmosphere
• Excellent command of Dutch and English (spoken and written)
• Flexible in working hours and willing to travel
• Holder of a driver's license (category B)
• Plus: experience with Vectorworks, SCAD Re-Event or comparable software
• Plus: a technical background or affinity with audio, video, lighting or rigging
• Based in or around Amsterdam
