Job summary

Stoneridge is seeking a Procurement Specialist on a fixed-term basis for 7 months to support the Indirect Procurement team. The role focuses on day-to-day purchasing activities, supplier management, PO processing, and ERP updates, ensuring business continuity without leading strategic sourcing initiatives.

The successful candidate will manage RFQ processes, negotiate routine terms, and collaborate with multiple departments to ensure timely procurement and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or a related field.
• Experience with ERP systems such as JDE, SAP, Oracle, or similar.
• Good Excel and data analysis skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow through on open actions, and work independently.
• Prior experience with indirect procurement categories is preferred.

Objective of the position

This position is offered on a fixed-term basis with a 7-month contract.

The Procurement Specialist provides operational procurement support to the Indirect Procurement team, ensuring the seamless continuation of day-to-day purchasing activities, supplier management, purchase order processing, and stakeholder support. The role focuses on the effective execution of procurement processes, maintaining supplier relationships, and responding to business requirements in a timely manner. This position is designed to support the ongoing operational workload and ensure business continuity, rather than leading strategic sourcing initiatives or category management activities.

Characterization of activities

• Manage the end-to-end RFQ process for indirect goods and services, including requirement gathering, supplier identification, quotation requests, bid analysis, commercial comparisons, and recommendation preparation.
• Support supplier sourcing activities by evaluating quotations, negotiating routine commercial terms, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and approval procedures.
• Create, maintain, and track purchase orders, ensuring timely order placement, supplier confirmations, and accurate ERP system updates.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery schedules, and open orders, proactively following up to prevent delays and mitigate supply risks.
• Coordinate the resolution of invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and goods receipt mismatches in collaboration with suppliers, finance, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate supplier records, contract documentation, purchasing data, and procurement reporting within ERP and procurement systems.
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, quality, finance, IT, facilities, and other departments to support procurement requests, clarify requirements, and ensure efficient execution.
• Provide timely updates to stakeholders on sourcing activities, order status, supplier commitments, and *escalate* urgent, high-impact, or high-value procurement matters when necessary.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

• Full-time employment of 40 hours per week.

• Travel allowance home-work: 23ct per kilometer one way up to a maximum of 50 km.
• CAO: Metalektro HP Retirement: PME (Pensioenfonds Metalektro).
• WIA: WIA floor, WGA gap and WGA gap additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.
• PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.
• Holiday days: 27 days on an annual basis (full-time).
