Job summary

Stoneridge in the Netherlands is seeking a Production Process Engineer to drive efficient, repeatable, and cost‑effective manufacturing processes. You will create clear assembly manuals, configure production equipment, and ensure processes are designed for manufacturability, quality, and scalability.

You will lead new product introductions, develop work instructions, optimize sequences, and establish quality controls (PFMEAs, Control Plans).

Qualifications

  • MBO technical vocational or HBO bachelor in engineering/manufacturing.
  • 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of Automotive Core Tools: SPC, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and Control Plans.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred; Dutch language a plus.
  • Experience programming Siemens PLCs in TIA Portal is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the introduction of new products into mass production, ensuring manufacturability, repeatability, production efficiency, and cost targets are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain clear assembly work instructions, safety procedures, and production documentation.
  • Optimize production processes, assembly sequences, tooling, and machine configurations to enhance quality, efficiency, and operational performance.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance mechanisms, including PFMEAs and Control Plans, while integrating quality standards into manufacturing processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reducing downtime, improving process flow, implementing Lean practices, and developing more efficient production methods and tooling.
  • Support production equipment maintenance and reliability through inspections, calibrations, troubleshooting, repair coordination, participation in 8D problem-solving teams, and cost-reduction initiatives.

Objective of the position

As a Production Process Engineer, you will play a key role in developing efficient, repeatable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes. You will optimize production workflows by creating clear assembly manuals, configuring production equipment, and ensuring processes are designed for manufacturability, quality, and operational efficiency. Working closely with production and quality teams, you will help drive continuous improvement and support the delivery of high-quality products in a reliable and scalable production environment.

Characterization of activities

Education, Experience And Knowledge
  • Technical vocational (MBO) or bachelor's degree (HBO) in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Automotive Core Tools, including SPC, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and Control Plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to advise, influence, negotiate, and build effective relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Proactive, confident, and solution-oriented professional who can drive improvements and gain buy-in from stakeholders.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred; Dutch language skills are a plus but not required.
  • Experience in programming Siemens PLCs in TIA Portal is a plus.
What We Offer
  • Salary based on knowledge and experience.
  • Full-time employment of 40 hours per week.
  • 8% holiday allowance.
  • Travel allowance home-work: 23ct per kilometer one way up to a maximum of 50 km

  • Retirement: PME (Pensioenfonds Metalektro).
  • WIA: WIA floor, WGA gap and WGA gap additional insurances in accordance with the stipulated provisions.
  • PAWW: Compulsory supplementary insurance when the statutory unemployment WW or WGA benefit expires.
  • Holiday days: 27 days on an annual basis (full-time).
  • ATV: 13 days on an annual basis (full-time)
