Job description

Be part of a movement to change the way Europe pays In today’s digital Europe, payments still feel too complicated. Random delays, confusing rules, extra apps and accounts make it harder than it should be to pay and get paid. The European Payments Initiative is changing that with Wero, a proudly European digital wallet to make payments easier, clearer and more secure. Online, in store, at home and across borders, with your money and data protected under European laws and regulations. Wero is live in Belgium, France, Germany and the Netherlands and launching very soon in Luxembourg and Austria. Backed by 17 major banks and the two largest European acquirers, we’re building a brand new, proudly European payment system.

At EPI, you'll help shape how teams collaborate across an entire European fintech from the ground up. We embrace a remote‑first culture, enabling our teams to work remotely from the country they are based in, with in‑person meetings at least once a quarter to foster collaboration and connection.

About The Team

You’ll join the Product, Engineering & Experience (PEX) organisation, working closely with the Chief Product & Technology Officer (CPTO) and the leadership team across Product Management, Engineering and Design. As our Product Operations Manager, you'll act as the connective tissue across teams, helping establish scalable operating models, governance frameworks, reporting, and knowledge management practices that enable hundreds of initiatives to move efficiently across the organisation. You will collaborate daily with Product Directors, Engineering Managers, Designers and senior stakeholders across EPI while contributing to the continuous evolution of our Product, Engineering & Experience organisation as we scale Wero across Europe.

Your impact
  • Design, implement and continuously improve the operating model for Product, Engineering and Design to enable efficient collaboration at scale.
  • Define and optimise key operational processes such as planning, governance, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and cross-functional ways of working.
  • Identify organisational bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement initiatives that increase delivery effectiveness across PEX.
  • Establish and maintain an operational KPI framework that provides visibility into performance, delivery health and organisational effectiveness.
  • Build dashboards, reporting and operational insights that support data-driven decision‑making across leadership teams.
  • Create a scalable knowledge management framework, including governance of Confluence, documentation standards, playbooks and templates.
  • Support strategic planning, executive communication and cross‑functional initiatives on behalf of the CPTO and PEX leadership team.
  • Drive organisational alignment and execution across multiple teams in a fast‑growing and evolving environment.

  • Miro
  • Microsoft 365
  • Looker, Power BI or similar reporting platforms
  • SQL and data analysis tools

  • Demonstrated experience designing and improving operating models, governance frameworks and organisational processes in Product, Engineering or Technology organisations.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience defining KPIs, operational reporting and translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross‑functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Experience building and maintaining knowledge management systems, documentation frameworks and Confluence governance.
  • Experience working in fintech, payments, banking or other highly regulated industries.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Product Operations, Program Management, Business Operations, Strategy & Operations, PMO or a similar operational excellence role within a technology‑driven organisation.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field.

  • A final interview with our CPTO
  • Hopefully, an offer you can’t refuse
Turn back if …
  • You're looking for a highly structured environment where every process already exists.
  • You prefer focusing on your own team rather than enabling collaboration across multiple functions.
  • You are uncomfortable navigating ambiguity and driving change in a fast‑growing organisation.

  • Remote-first culture with quarterly and annual all‑staff in‑person meetups to keep teams connected and collaborative
  • Possibility to work from another EU country for up to 3 months per year
