Job summary

SoftwareOne Amsterdam is seeking a Pre-Sales Consultant to partner with Sales and customers, shaping opportunities from early discovery through to proposal. You will be the subject matter expert across IT Asset Management, FinOps, and Software Sourcing services, ensuring engagements are clearly scoped, deliverable, and outcome-led.

You will run discovery workshops, define assumptions, produce estimates and customer-ready proposals, and support informed decision-making with value-focused SOWs.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of ITAM principles including asset lifecycle management, inventory, governance, compliance, risk, and optimisation outcomes.
• Knowledge of how ITAM practices improve visibility, control, and operational efficiency.
• Ability to apply ITAM principles to support compliance and cost optimisation initiatives.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure including hardware, operating systems, applications, networking, and cloud services.
• Understanding of integrations between ITAM/SAM and adjacent systems such as ITSM and CMDB platforms.
• Ability to interpret inventory and usage data and assess its impact on reporting, governance, and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery and qualification to confirm customer objectives, constraints, stakeholders, and timelines while assessing opportunity viability.
• Define scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and delivery approach in collaboration with Delivery teams.
• Produce customer-ready proposals, pricing inputs, SOWs, and supporting documentation with clear deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities.
• Maintain and improve reusable pre-sales assets such as discovery questions, workshop agendas, proposal templates, and standard deliverables.
• Collaborate with marketing, bid, and enablement teams to ensure collateral remains accurate and aligned to service offerings.
