Flexport in Amsterdam is seeking a Software Engineer II for the PSI team to own developer platform projects and improve tooling used by hundreds of engineers daily.

You will build paved paths and self-serve tooling, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and enhance the GraphQL/gRPC ecosystem while ensuring secure, scalable IAM and observability across services. Join a collaborative, growth-oriented workplace.

Competenze

• 2-5 years of software engineering experience, ideally on developer platforms or internal tooling.
• Full-stack curiosity across backend and frontend build pipelines, Kubernetes manifests, and CI configs.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, container orchestrators, build tooling (multiple languages), GraphQL, gRPC, metrics, and artifact storage.
• Ability to understand problems, ask the right questions, and align work with team goals.
• Care for internal users and ownership of projects from idea to production.
• Willingness to fix tech debt and support migrations under guidance.
• Strong communication: design docs, stakeholder updates, and peer interviews.
• Helpful attitude to unblock teammates and foster collaboration.
• Growth mindset toward broader scope and impact.

• Own projects within the platform and help evolve the developer experience for Flexport engineers.
• Build paved paths and self-serve tooling to make the right thing the easy thing.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite, GitHub Actions) and build tooling (Gradle, Bazel, npm/pnpm/bun, Go/Cargo).
• Improve backend/frontend developer experience through scoped projects.
• Contribute to GraphQL and gRPC ecosystem: middleware, federation, codegen, servers/clients.
• Contribute to IAM solutions for secure defaults and easy access.
• Help engineers use container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS) and observability stack (Datadog/OpenMetrics).
• Gather internal feedback and translate into clear problem statements; prioritize work with the team.
