Job summary

SRM Recruitment is partnering with a global organisation in Amsterdam to recruit a Planning Manager on a permanent basis. You will drive end-to-end planning excellence across supply and demand, production and capacity planning, inventory management and S&OP/IBP.

Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, you will align supply with customer demand, optimize working capital and operational efficiency, and lead continuous improvement across the function.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of progressive planning/supply chain/operations experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with demand forecasting, production scheduling, and S&OP processes.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Advanced Excel/data analysis skills; Power BI exposure would help.

Responsibilities

  • Translate demand forecasts into robust, achievable supply plans.
  • Balance customer service requirements against inventory investment and working capital.
  • Identify supply risks and gaps and drive corrective actions.
  • Manage supply allocations and priorities across Customer Service, Commercial and Demand Planning.
  • Develop supply forecasts to support logistics activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain function.
  • Help drive stronger S&OP across the organisation through improved processes.

Job description

SRM Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a global organisation based in Amsterdam, Holland to assist in recruiting for a Planning Manager to join them on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role which would offer the successful candidate incredible opportunity for career progression within a forward thinking, innovative business.

This Planning Manager role is a key hire for our client with responsibility for driving end-to-end planning excellence, covering supply and demand planning, production and capacity planning, inventory management and S&OP/IBP.

Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring supply is aligned with customer demand and service requirements, whilst maintaining a strong focus on inventory, working capital and operational efficiency.

Additional key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Translate demand forecasts into robust and achievable supply plans.
  • Balance customer service requirements against inventory investment and working capital.
  • Identify supply risks and gaps and drive appropriate corrective actions.
  • Manage supply allocations and priorities across Customer Service, Commercial and Demand Planning.
  • Develop supply forecasts to support logistics activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across the Supply Chain function.
  • Help drive greater S&OP across the organisation through improved processes.

The successful applicant will have the following skillset and experience:

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in planning, supply chain, or operations roles within a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with demand forecasting, production scheduling, and S&OP processes.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred);
  • Advanced Excel/data analysis skills. Exposure to PowerBi would be great!
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
