Job summary

Samyang Europe is seeking a Demand Planner to develop accurate forecasts and collaborate with Sales, Marketing and SCM to ensure product availability and optimized stock levels in the Netherlands. You will analyze historical data, customer patterns, and market trends to refine forecasts and support inventory planning.

You will work with local and Korea supply teams to align demand with capabilities, identify forecast risks, and deliver regular reports to management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Admin, Economics or related field.
• 3–5 years in demand planning, forecasting, or SCM roles (FMCG/food preferred).
• Strong Excel skills; experience with demand planning tools is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts for existing customers across channels.
• Analyze historical sales data, customer patterns, promotions, and market trends to refine forecasts.
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to incorporate customer insights and upcoming campaigns.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain (local and Korea) to align demand with supply and lead times.
• Identify forecast risks and deviations; address forecast accuracy issues.
• Prepare regular demand planning reports and present updates to management.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and root causes to continuously improve processes.
• Support development of planning tools, systems, and best practices within SCM.

Job Overview

The Demand Planner will play a key role in developing accurate demand forecasts, collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain colleagues to ensure product availability and efficient inventory management. This position focuses on anticipating future demand from existing customers across different sales channels, enabling the company to meet market needs while optimizing stock levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain roles (FMCG or food industry experience preferred)
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with demand planning tools is an advantage
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of European retail and wholesale distribution channels is preferred
• Fluent in English.
• Knowledge of Dutch and/or Korean is an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts for existing customers in various sales channels
• Gather and analyse historical sales data, customer purchase patterns, promotional activities, and market trends to refine forecasts
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to incorporate customer insights, upcoming campaigns, and product launches into demand planning
• Work closely with the Supply Chain teams (local and in Korea) to align demand plans with supply capabilities and lead times
• Identify and address demand fluctuations, forecast accuracy issues, and potential risks to product availability
• Prepare regular demand planning reports and present forecast updates to management
• Monitor and improve forecast accuracy by analysing deviations and root causes
• Ensure demand planning processes support optimal inventory levels, minimizing both stock-outs and excess inventory
• Support the development of planning tools, systems, and best practices within the SCM team
