Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Application Specialist to support LC-MS and HPLC solutions within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division. The role combines hands-on instrumentation expertise with training delivery to pharma customers.

You will work with sales, service, and product teams, develop methods, troubleshoot, and help optimize workflows in regulated environments; travel up to 75% is expected.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of hands-on LC-MS and/or HPLC instrumentation experience.
• Strong direct experience in Pharma/Biopharma analytical applications.
• Experience with analytical method development, troubleshooting, optimization, and data interpretation.
• Experience in GMP/GLP regulated environments is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate in cross-functional/international teams.
• Fluent English and local language communication skills.
• Customer-focused with strong consultative abilities.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced product and workflow training to customers virtually, remotely, onsite, or at Thermo Fisher training centers.
• Support customers in implementation and optimization of LC-MS and HPLC solutions.
• Act as a trusted scientific advisor for complex analytical challenges in regulated environments.
• Provide scientific and technical support for Pharma customers using LC-MS and HPLC workflows.
• Support method development, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and workflow optimization.
• Deliver scientific presentations, workshops, and customer demonstrations for Pharma/Biopharma.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Service, Product Management, and Applications teams.
• Analyze experimental data and provide scientifically sound recommendations.
• Support customer escalations with high-level scientific problem-solving.
