Job summary

Philips International in the Netherlands seeks a Systems Engineer – Pathology Scanners to develop and maintain pathology scanner solutions within the Digital & Computational Pathology portfolio. You will work on design, integration, testing and lifecycle practices for a growing set of pathology scanners.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering, at least 3 years in a scientific or system engineering role, and hands-on experience with optics, embedded systems,

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or similar.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a scientist, system engineer or designer, preferably within the medical industry.
  • Strong affinity with optics, mechatronics, electronics and software.
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems and scripting in Matlab or Python on Linux.
  • Hands-on experience with algorithm realization in image or signal processing.
  • Self-starting, pragmatic mindset with strong problem-solving skills and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Explore design: realization, integration, testing, and debugging of components; understand consequences of design and architecture.
  • Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to scale production of pathology scanners.
  • Perform hands-on debugging and analysis, define next steps, and present findings to senior engineers and developers.
  • Set up, script, and run product experiments; drive data collection and interpretation of results.
  • Apply appropriate statistical techniques to available data to answer questions.
  • Develop and maintain software tools used for development, testing, or manufacturing.
