Job summary

Metheion is seeking a lead Materials Scientist to own the product-market fit strategy for a deep-tech startup building a next-generation deposition platform for semiconductor thin films. You will connect deposition tech to use cases in the semiconductor industry and define pilot applications.

You will build the materials characterization pipeline, oversee metrology partnerships, and work closely with the CTO and engineers to map plasma conditions to film properties.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with significant industrial experience in materials science and semiconductor research.
• Experience defining pilot applications and roadmaps for deposition technologies.
• Hands-on with thin-film metrology and DOE-driven process optimization.

Responsibilities

• Own the thin-film development roadmap across existing and new semiconductor applications.
• Define and drive material KPIs: composition, density, stress, uniformity, defects, electrical/thermal properties.
• Manage external metrology partnerships and build internal metrology capability over time.
