Job summary

Metheion Technology & Engineering Consulting seeks a senior plasma physicist to own the plasma side of a semiconductor thin-film deposition platform. You will define process windows, characterize discharges, and map plasma behavior to film properties to guide design decisions with the CTO and engineers.

This early-stage startup expects ambiguity and rapid iteration, with 4 days on-site and 1 day hybrid work. Visa sponsorship is available and ESOP may be discussed.

Qualifications

• PhD in plasma physics or MSc with 5+ years industrial experience.
• Strong background in plasma physics with real-world hardware constraints.
• Experience translating plasma behavior into process outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own plasma discharge characterization and performance optimization for the deposition platform.
• Define process windows and KPIs for repeatability under fab-relevant conditions.
• Map plasma behavior to film properties across deposition modes.
• Collaborate with CTO and engineers to drive system architecture decisions.
• Engage with equipment OEMs and fab partners to define technical requirements.
